Some of the measures taken by Indian Government to handle climate change

India has been affected by climate change in various ways, including increasing temperatures, changing rainfall patterns, and extreme weather events. Here are some recent works to handle climate change in India:

  1. National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC): The Indian government launched the NAPCC in 2008, which outlines eight missions to address climate change in various sectors such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable agriculture, and water conservation.

  2. International Solar Alliance (ISA): India, along with France, launched the ISA in 2015, which is a treaty-based alliance of 121 countries aiming to promote solar energy and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.

  3. National Clean Energy Fund (NCEF): The NCEF was established in 2010 to fund research and development of clean energy technologies and to support their deployment in India.

  4. Green India Mission (GIM): The GIM was launched in 2014 to increase forest cover and enhance ecosystem services such as carbon sequestration, water conservation, and biodiversity conservation.

  5. Climate Smart Villages (CSV): The CSV is a program launched by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research to promote climate-resilient agriculture practices in rural areas.

  6. Climate Resilient Agriculture (CRA): The CRA program was launched in 2011 to develop and promote climate-resilient agricultural practices, including crop diversification, improved irrigation systems, and conservation agriculture.

These are some of the recent works to handle climate change in India. The Indian government, along with various NGOs and other stakeholders, is working towards mitigating and adapting to the impacts of climate change in the country.
